I first met David Clawson in early December 2009. Since then he has exceeded my expectations and goals. I was severely overweight (obese), in the vicinity of 60-75 lbs. It was a few months after my 50th birthday and I had begun to notice a very downward slope in my physical appearance and stamina. I immediately began training 3 times a week for the next 3+ months and began to notice results in the first few weeks. An initial drop of 15 lbs. in the first several weeks was accompanied by increased stamina and energy. Then a major shift in diet to go with training saw another 20-25 lbs. literally FALL off of me in the next 2-3 months. I have now stabilized at roughly 40 lbs less than I was 9 months ago and am now working on the second phase of my training to increase cardio health and lose another 15-20 lbs. over the next few months. I still have a ways to go before I reach my ultimate goal, but it is now much closer and easier to visualize. Throughout all of this revitalization, David was there every step of the way. First by improving my energy level and changing my sedentary habits he encouraged me to push myself to reach my goals. And when I was overtraining (on my own) he got me through a few minor strains by rehabbing gradually so as not to reduce my workouts, but to redirect them until I was able to train again at my previous level. The opposite of the classic "drill sergeant", David works with you and your body to bring results from within your own capabilities. Exhausted after workouts, but exhilarated from the results; the time flies by until your almost done and you realize what a wise and healthy choice you have made with your life. I heartily endorse David Clawson to anyone who is interested in improving their health and life.

When I sought out David Clawson to provide personal training I was looking to maintain my cardiovascular wellness while increasing my core strength and overall fitness level. Prior to working with David, I was primarily a runner whose body lacked strength and flexibility and therefore I experienced some knee and joint pain. Because I was afraid of “bulking up”, he led me through exercises using the Viper, Bosu balls, free weights and the TRX emphasizing creating lean muscle definition and toning. To alleviate pressure on my sore joints and knees while building strength throughout my body, David focused on helping me use my core and stomach while extending it to all other muscle groups. He was able to challenge me with a plethora of varied exercises that both pushed my muscles to their limit while taking my heart rate to a level that I thought only running could do!

 

Before working with David, I had become complacent in my exercise routine and therefore had reached a fitness plateau. Because he pushed me to increase the weight level while trying entirely new things outside of my comfort zone and assumed capabilities, I have never felt better or more in shape. In addition, David’s sense of humor and energy level are not only a great motivator, but make you feel like you’re not even working out. He has a way of making you feel at ease and comfortable with him and your surroundings, while at the same time challenging you to push yourself to fitness level you never thought possible. It is a total pleasure to work with him and I have, and will continue to, recommend him to all of my friends and family!

I once told David Clawson that I wanted to work towards a sore core, and my body has not been the same since.  He designs sessions that blow my mind, body, and core to the extreme. Everything he sets up is unlike any other exercises I see around the gym, which makes me feel even more special doing it. He combines gym toys and weights with the floor, the wall, the bench, and then incorporates motions that test your coordination and focus. David is the ideal trainer for someone who gets bored and can’t focus on a set long enough to be effective. He keeps me entirely engaged, directing different moves with different hands and distracting me well enough that I don’t notice how far he’s actually pushed my physicality. He fits everything I need into one dynamic workout by keeping my heart rate high and my muscles busy. David makes me feel like an athlete again, boosting my confidence inside and outside of the gym. And perhaps most importantly, working out with David is fun: he makes the challenge enjoyable. His creativity, enthusiasm and genuine commitment to overall health is inspiring.

I have been involved in the fitness world, doing everything from fitness competitions, to dancing, to sports since I was in my teens.  Shortly after the holidays I started to plateau, and fell into sort of a rut.  I felt like I was doing the same thing, nothing new excited me, and I needed a change of pace to reinvigorate myself.  A friend raved about her personal trainer, David Clawson, and how much progress she made in just a few months, but I was skeptical.  After talking with him, and discussing my goals, he encouraged me to give him a shot, and promised our workouts would be challenging and different.  He was right!  I thought I had done and seen it all over the years of training for different events and reasons, but David's training style and exercises were unlike anything I have ever experienced.  He is extremely knowledgeable about how the body functions, and he trains my body in a way I have never been trained before.  We have worked out in my home, and outside, and he manages to kick my butt no matter where we are.  He knows how to push me just hard enough, without overdoing it or making me feel like a failure.  And surprisingly his outgoing personality and humor makes the hours fun, so you don't even realize how hard he's actually pushing you. 

Since training with David I can honestly say I am beyond happy with my success in my physical performance and appearance.  I look and feel like I'm in my twenties and at the peak of my physical fitness again thanks to him.  If you are looking for a personal trainer who will get you results I am living proof that he is the best at what he does. Thanks David, you're the greatest!
